Dr. Linda Lin

Dr. Linda Lin is a licensed clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychology at Emmanuel College in Boston whose work focuses on the science of social connection, health, and well-being.

Dr. Lin gives keynote addresses and does training and consultations with organizations on ways to foster more social health and engagement within their communities. She is known for translating rigorous psychological research into clear, practical insights for diverse audiences.

For more than 25 years, she has conducted scientific research studies on topics related to social connection, health behaviors, and mental health. She has published dozens of peer-reviewed research articles in scientific journals and book chapters on health and well-being. She has delivered over 100 presentations to academic, healthcare, nonprofit, and corporate groups, including a Main Stage presentation to the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Lin has taught university classes for over 25 years and on psychological and physical health, include the Psychology of Happiness and Well-Being. She has worked as a psychotherapist at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Boston Medical Center, and the VA Boston Healthcare System. Also, Dr. Lin is a Founding Speaker for the SpeakHer Collective, an organization amplifying women’s expertise on current issues. In addition, she is the Founding Social Scientist for Konnect, an app focused on reducing loneliness and fostering real-time social interactions.

She earned her B.A. in Psychology from New York University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed her internship and postdoctoral training at Boston University School of Medicine. She has held adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Massachusetts and Boston University School of Medicine.
